Man stuffed wrong woman in car trunk ?
"Man tells police he confused woman they say he tried to stuff in his trunk for his wife, was not trying to kidnap her"
A Utah man reportedly told police that the kidnapping accusation they were laying on him was all just a big misunderstanding. According to reports, the man explained to police that he simply believed the woman he was being accused of trying to take off a sidewalk was his wife, who he claimed he had been arguing with in their home prior to the incident. Maybe that can happen, somehow, but that doesnt explain why police say he tried to stuff the woman he claims he thought was his wife into the trunk of his car.
The report said the man was parked next to a sidewalk, and as the woman passed his car, he stepped out and opened his trunk. They say he then approached the woman and began pulling her violently, toward the trunk. The woman reportedly fell, and the man began to pull at her purse, which she refused to let go of. Police say he then punched her in the face before hopping in his vehicle and driving away at a high rate of speed.
Fortunately, it was all caught on surveillance video, and the man was soon apprehended. Thats when he reportedly told police about the argument with the wife, that he had been drinking, and that he just wanted to get her and get her back home. When he realized the woman was not his wife, he told them, he ran away.
The explanation might not be much better than the accusation, and whatever the situation truly was, it did not work out well for the man who is now reportedly being held on charges of aggravated kidnapping, robbery and assault.
