I Just Hope The MSM & Polls Aren't Just Trying To Prepare Us Into Accepting A Rmoney Stealing .....

of this election.

I know on DU the thought is that the MSM just wants to make this race seem close so they can continue to rake in the ad money and keep the people watching. That is what I'd like to believe - that PBO has re-election under his belt and the MSM is just trying to push ratings, money, etc.

What I'm really worried about is that the MSM - which looks so slanted to the RW, Corporatists, Banksters, the 1%er's and the Repugs - is aiding and abetting them by talking about how close this race is and there are ties in some of the battle ground states - because they are laying a shield for the RW, Corporatists, Banksters, the 1%er's and the Repugs - to steal this election - through machine rigging, dirty tricks, voter suppression and disenfranchisement.

If we - the American Sheeple - believe that this is such a close race - they think that we'll be more accepting of a Rmoney win.

Gore fought it all the way to the Supreme Court. There was nowhere else to go after they ruled.

Strangely enough, a lot of it is among Dems. Gore fought - as long and as hard as he could. Where does one go after the Supreme Court has ruled - armed insurrection? In retrospect, what happened afterwards could hardly have been worse, but still ....

Gore was also criticized at the time by some (who called themselves) Dems for waiting as long as he did to concede.

I remember that whole time as one of deep depression, which only got worse after Bush was inaugurated and the influence of the neocons on FP began to solidify focus on Saddam Hussein - even before 9-11. And Bush II & Co never took the many warnings that they received about Al Qaeda seriously.

It very nearly caused the end of my marriage because it took me a LONG time to get over it and it still brings up a lot of bad feelings. For me, it was also nearly the end of the country I grew up in. People like Paul Wellstone and Howard Dean made me begin to believe again. Places like DU helped me retain some shreds of sanity and President Obama has helped me to believe that just maybe, we can be the country I thought that we could be.

Thank heavens also for Nate Silver and Sam Wang - who have saved me from cardiac arrest during these past harrowing weeks!

I don't see where a President has much pull on the strings here. There are 50 state elections, private ownership and control of the voting machines, and a corporate owned media under no obligation to truth but obligated to profits to shareholders.

I don't see what you are hanging your hat on here, seems like a leap of faith to me.

Which was the point of the post I responded to.

Personally, I'm not sure hindsight creates any special advantage because if it did the TeaPubliKlan shenanigans would be front burner stuff and there wouldn't be the reactionary stupidity of going along with dumb shit like killing ACORN and cutting our own damn selves off at the knees well in advance of the days of dirt.
