Teetering with Trump, Brooks calls for McConnell's ouster

Politico

Alabama Republican Mo Brooks is calling for Mitch McConnell to be ousted as Senate GOP leader, making him the party’s third major Senate candidate to come out in favor of booting the Kentucky Republican.

“America can’t afford a Senate leader who is a weak-kneed, debt junkie, open-border RINO Republican and who, worse yet, sells out America for special interest group cash,” Brooks says in a new 90-second web advertisement.

Brooks joins two other Republican candidates — Eric Greitens of Missouri and Kelly Tshibaka of Alaska — in pushing for McConnell’s removal. All three are running staunchly anti-establishment campaigns and are aligning themselves with former President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly laced into McConnell over the past year.

Despite Trump’s encouragement, anti-McConnell sentiment has not caught on broadly among GOP Senate candidates. And Brooks is releasing the ad at a treacherous moment for his campaign. Trump told the Washington Examiner last week that he was considering pulling his endorsement of Brooks, who has trailed his primary opponents in fundraising. In the interview, Trump ripped Brooks for urging Republicans to move on from questioning the results of the 2020 election.

As is anyone who follows Trump.

As a life-long liberal Democrat, let me state that McConnell has been a brilliant leader for Republicans. He knows how the levers of power work and he has wielded them with the legerdemain of a magician. He has survived in politics for decades because he's savvy, ingenious and merciless.

All to the detriment of Democrats and our country.

Still, he's been a powerfully effective leader and any Republican who thinks otherwise is foolish and stupid.

are starting to be the cause of the Qpublikkkan Party to start turning on each other. And McConnell is the same type of traitor as his boss, Humpty Trumpty. And in a related development, we know his daughter spun a room of gold worth at least 640 million...

I'm fine with that!

However, the equation should be: How many McConnells = 1 Mo Brooks?

If the GOP's electorate cannot riddle that one, they're screwed politically.

I'm fine with that, too.
