The modern "technical" is a staple of insurgent combat. Created by mounting heavy weaponry to consumer vehicles, they allow for serious firepower and high mobility at a low cost. Typically, the requirement for multi-terrain operation, durability, affordability, and payload capacity mean they are built from 4x4 SUVs or pickup trucks. But there's no technical reason why you can't build one from a luxurious German grand tourer.

Couple years ago driving through interstate 10 in Arizona I saw a Prius with “Black Rifle Coffee” pass me with a damn machine gun mounted on the roof! I fear these guys just can’t wait for the day to unleash holy hell.

I have an X3i and the sun roof in that thing goes to beyond the back seats And the heated seat are divine, so is the heated steering wheel. Both features are needed im serious cold because you have to use the defrost. I had to go on a 70 mile round trip in -25F temps last month and I was really thankful for the seat and wheel heat!

The X models would make great technicals, 4WD/AWD and all the power you need for speedy get up and go.

The Ukrainians have certainly got their ducks in a row in this fight.
