Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, and Tom Cotton used SC hearing to score points for 2024 Presidential run

Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, and Tom Cotton use Ketanji Brown Jackson's Supreme Court confirmation hearing to score points for likely 2024 runs

Senate Republicans eyeing the 2024 presidential race used Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson's widely-viewed Supreme Court nomination hearings to court supporters, lacing their opening remarks with conservative buzzwords.

In their speeches on Monday, Sens. Josh Hawley of Missouri, Ted Cruz of Texas, and Tom Cotton of Arkansas alerted Donald Trump voters about what they'll be grilling Jackson about during the nomination process. That to-do list includes freedom of speech, religious liberty, gun rights, abortion, school choice, and criminal sentencing.

"All of those questions are fair game," Cruz said to Jackson. "Will you follow the law?"

Hawley, as he telegraphed earlier, let Jackson know he wants to dig further into her rulings on child pornography-related cases. He mentioned seven cases where he said she issued "a lenient sentence that was below what the federal guidelines recommended and below what prosecutors requested" — decisions Republicans say, show she's "soft" on crime.

These fucking hypocrites need to be called out. Someone needs to ask him about Gaetz. The judge needs to give the standard repuke answer. I can’t talk about issues that might come before me in the court.

Getting people killed. Trying to stop the peaceful transfer of power and overthrow the United States government. How long should that person be in jail?
