(5,733 posts)This is a gifted child; perfect pitch, breath control, lovely natural vibrato, incredible poise, and faultless memory for lyrics. She grabbed my heart and, I know, gave hope to so many.

(21,433 posts)the Ukranian national anthem that I have heard in the past few weeks. Better than the various choirs, who are good, but who could compete with this combination of strong voice, perfect pitch, and poise in the simplicity of a child?

(111,254 posts)let alone for a kid singing a capella, something that adds another layer of difficulty. She managed.
I'm glad another kid is out.
I'm sick over the ones who aren't.

(11,097 posts)Opening lyrics to Ukrainian national anthem:
The glory and freedom of Ukraine has not yet perished
Luck will still smile on us brother-Ukrainians.
Our enemies will die, as the dew does in the sunshine,
and we, too, brothers, we'll live happily in our land.
Well not spare either our souls or bodies to get freedom
and well prove that we brothers are of Kozak kin.
NOTE: "Kozak" is a reference to the Ukrainian Cossacks who feared only dying in their bed of old age.
Slava Ukraini!
