(589 posts)in our civilization are starting to outnumber the strong ones...DeJoy and his Republican allies are part of that trend and I don't see it reversing anytime soon.
If they sweep (steal) the midterms I'm going to finally run up my credit cards.

(21,337 posts)I never watch cable except for 2 anchors. Repubs are going to stick to 1 or 2 bogus talking points and keep repeating them over and over. Soft on crime will be the big lie, I don't need to listen to nonsense, I will continue cleaning up and raking the yard.
I can't wait for John Fetterman to join the Senate, he won't put up with Repuke BS.

(38,456 posts)that has been at a distribution center 3 miles from my home since Friday night. It finally will be delivered today. And this happens on a regular basis since DeJoy took over. IMO he is trying to wreck confidence in the USPS so as to destroy it from within.

I also sometimes get a package coming from a certain direction that gets stuck in a loop between big city distribution and mid-size distribution hub. It can go back and forth for several days. I don't think it actually goes anywhere, it just gets scanned and shuffled from one end of the warehouse to the other. I will get notice the package is available for pickup and go to the post office, and the clerk tells me it hasn't arrived. So I give them the tracking number. They have to go look for it and are not happy that tracking is faster than the distribution system. Retail windows can have part time hours in smaller po's, at least sometimes.

(10,885 posts)in upheaval, I now make sure to mail birthday cards and other important mail two weeks before needed delivery, and packages get mailed one month in advance. Even that's not a guarantee, but gone are the days of a last minute rush to get something out. The tracking of some packages has been nothing short of hilarious as far as the paths over which they've traveled.
USPS is one more entity where the tRump administration was successful in degrading the service and, what's more, degrading its reputation and trust.

(4,587 posts)I have no doubt a republican president would have removed whatever board members necessary for cause in order to remove a hostile postmaster general -- likely to be challenged in court but that doesn't seem to deter republicans. Biden has taken the cautious approach and is still waiting for his new board members to be approved by the Senate. One of Biden's nominees is a republican and not a lock to vote to remove DeJoy. I think Biden has overall exceeded expectations, but this is one glaring failure to act decisively on his part.

(31,112 posts)Please tell me this is a typo:
Unless you mean HOSTILE to said republican who of course would be trying to destroy USPS and would remove the General because he would not cooperate in that destruction, then I will apologize for my screaming at you.

(4,587 posts)Yes, a republican president would remove board members who continued to support a postmaster general who was hostile to the republican president. In fact, this is what several congress members have urged President Biden to do.
