Nestlé has defended its decision to remain in Russia by claiming that it will not profit from its operations there, as Ukraine increases pressure on the worlds largest food company to leave as the war escalates and casualties mount."
snip-"Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said...,
Paying taxes to the budget of a terrorist country means killing defenseless children & mothers. I hope Nestle changes its mind soon.

(8,814 posts)striking down the 2010 USSC Citizens United decision. and given the totally corrupt stacking of the Supreme Court by the Republicans/Trump, that will not happen..................Along with all the un-fathomable damage that group of USSC justices are currently doing and the things they will do in the future...............
They are effectively strinking down the U.S. Constitution and Democracy and substituting what I call:
THE REPUBLICAN BILL OF RIGHTS. And being a millimeter away from installing the CORPORATE FASCIST TYRANNY of AMERICA.....

(3,952 posts)Rmoney instead of Obama in 2004. Just find the Fux News clip of KKKarl sputtering about because he knew the fix was in, but when his evildoers couldn't log on to their computers to flip votes, he was incredulous. Rmoney didn't even have a concession speech prepared because KKKarl assured him it was a "done deal."
Have I told you lately how much I fking loathe Rethuglicans?

(15,084 posts)2004 was Dubyah vs. Kerry.
But I do remember Rove dashing away from the election table when Fox declared Obama the winner in Ohio.

(7,638 posts)I was here and I seem to remember the opposite. Why I bet the word FBI was used a dozen times at least. Going after a state run TV or website is one thing, hacking companies seems a bridge to far to me. So the next time someone hacks a company you use, or a discussion board perhaps, think about what you're cheering about.

(111,253 posts)That homophobic video was kind of a dead giveaway to the origin.
I also used the old Dalnet IRC network. It was mostly obliterated by DDoS attacks that lasted weeks.
However, I do reserve the right to a little schadedfreude when some pig gets his/hers/theirs.
Offhand, I'd say most of the Anonymous hackers active against Russia are in Eastern Europe, people here general wouldn't know where to start. Also, the hack of unsecured printers to print out news stories was pure genius. I just hope the stories were in Russian so they'd get read.

(65,010 posts)Nestle is an $86 billion dollar company based in Switzerland.
Kraft is a $26 billion company based around 80 miles north of our house. They're in Chicago.
I've known several food chemists that worked at the R&D center in Glenview. Supposed to be a good company to work for.

"'Good food. Good life.' This is the slogan of Nestlé. Your company that refuses to leave Russia," Zelensky said Saturday during an address to the people of Switzerland. "Even now when there are threats from Russia to other European countries. Not only to us. When there is even nuclear blackmail from Russia."
Nestlé (NSRGF), the world's largest food-and-beverage company and the maker of Gerber, KitKat and Dreyer's ice cream, defended itself by pointing out that it has made sweeping changes since Russia invaded Ukraine.

(20,237 posts)If hacktivists put any corps. butt in sling over there [Я], good on them. But if this ends up also affecting essential products here in the US?
I'll do my part as best as. I.E., Häagen-Dazs products aren't essential.
Saved the link to the astronomical list of Nestlé products.

Geez, our company was only a little more than $4 billion in revenue and the data servers were in their own room, bigger than my lab & office combined.
Nestles is 20x the size.
I thought that was awfully small for a hack. My laptop has a 300 gig drive!
