Clarence still in the hospital. The Supreme Court says not COVID but no negative test

reported. I'm praying.

WASHINGTON — Justice Clarence Thomas remains hospitalized in Washington after being found to have an infection, but he does not have COVID-19, the Supreme Court said Monday.
The high court announced Sunday evening that the 73-year-old justice had entered the hospital Friday after experiencing “flu-like symptoms” and underwent tests. The court said Thomas was found to have an infection and was being treated with intravenous antibiotics. The court said at the time that “his symptoms are abating,” but it did not say that Thomas had tested negative for the coronavirus.

During arguments at the court Monday, Thomas’ chair, to the right of Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., was empty, and Roberts took note of Thomas’ absence without explaining the reason for it. He said Thomas would take part in the cases based on written briefs and recordings of the in-court arguments. Thomas has been on the court since 1991 and is currently its longest-serving justice.

Not most politicians and or judges. The world can't function without them.

I don't know, but I'm almost sure the sun will come up the day after I die. Someone else will come along and replace me with a different hair style and different cloths.

Seriously, are folks that narcissistic that they feel obligated to hang around until their dying breath? Move on, you're not that important.

I just turned 70 last Saturday. I got to take the weekend off. I was in Spain the day before, Paris yesterday, Brussels today—retirement would kill me of boredom. Thomas has been mentally ossified for many years. THAT is why he needs to go. 73 is just a number.

Every 4 years the President chooses one new court member. In and out - the longest anyone can be Cheif Justice is 6-8 years.

I know there are "cons" to this compared to the current system, but we have to do something to stop court-packing and term limits might do the trick.

It's macabre to watch out for who might die soon. I hated it seeing it happen to Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

A president gets to pick two justices per four year term.

It gives each justice plenty of time on the court. It also prevents the situation we have today of strategic retirements and justices staying until they're dead.

I can’t remember but it seems like it was several days before he was released.

I’m sure that Thomas is getting the BEST care possible, of course, and it may be that the hospital is being uber careful.

Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone got that kind of healthcare?
