How the times have changed.. In 1978 my doctor tried to convince me to HAVE an abortion (Kansas)

I was pregnant with our 3rd, just 3 months after the 2nd, and I had a history of abruption with the first one.

His words to me.. I'll never forget them..

"This is not a very smart thing to do so soon after your 2nd C-section..with your history.. Let's take care of this right away"..

I declined..and 4 1/2 months later I had another abruption, and our 3rd son..we both survived, but my doctor convinced me to have a tubal ligation..

Two Code Blue deliveries in 5 years convinced me

I am acquainted with another woman who had twins. Three sets of twins, all boys, within 7 years. Her husband wanted a girl; after the last set of male twins, she had a tubal ligation on doctor's advice. If the health of the child or the mother is at risk, a doctor here will counsel an abortion, tubal ligations, et al. It's not a question here, at least at the moment. If Harper has his way, that may change.

A medical professional should be looking at the health of the mother and the child and what's best for both, not working under this mediaeval regime.

Just had her second baby within a year and had horrible pregnancies with both, was hospitalized many times for dehydration and had a PICC line installed the 2nd time for nutrition. I truly hope she or her husband have the sense to "get fixed" now because she may not survive another pregnancy. And enough sense to ignore their church (devout Catholics all).
