In anticipation of Russian hacking attempts and potential phishing exploits,

I recommend that everyone change the passwords for all banking and financial websites immediately.

When you do, harden your new password. Make it 100% non-guessable.

Banking is a very likely target for hackers right now. Protect yourself.

Just go to a place's website, log in, and look for messages there. Especially with banking, financial, and credit websites. None of those will ever ask you to click a link in a legitimate email. They know better than to do that.
