Not a Constitutional scholar but I remember reading or seeing commentary that Senate confirmation isn’t really needed. It’s just how we’ve done it. Joe would make their heads pop if he did that.

It is conceivable that one of the reasons that the Republicans have such sour looks on their faces is that they’re gonna be back soon doing the same thing. Nobody can tell me that they don’t know what’s really going on with the other justice presently in the hospital. I’m sure word is out among the hot shots and they’re getting nervous.

It’s going to be Weekend at Bernie’s for justice Thomas if he sick so that they can get through the midterms and pray that they take the Senate, which I do not believe they will do. As far as I’m concerned the Republicans could forget about Pennsylvania, they screwed themselves as usual and I do believe that our lieutenant governor will be the next senator.

Once approved, Ketanji Brown Jackson will be "on the shelf" until a seat opens. Hopefully sooner than the end of this session.

Manchin walked back the comment he made earlier afternoon indicating that he would not support confirming a second Biden nominee to the Supreme Court if another vacancy occurs shortly before the Nov. 8 midterm election.

and he won't vote for it. It's going to mean Republican's will be able to openly cheat and we can do nothing about it. We're slowly going down the shitter and accepting it because it could be worse if we don't have Manchin. I'm not even sure he will vote for Brown.

mean to be negative but the writing is on the wall. Our best chance is electing more Democrats and that avenue has been shut down with the help of Manchin and Sinema. At this point I wouldn't be surprised to see Brown's nomination pulled and the Judge from South Carolina put forth.

Thomas has been a Supreme Court Justice for 30 years and 151 days as of today March 23, 2022. Seems long enough to me.
