If the title of this post gave you the slightest information about the contents of the thread?
And if the contents of this post further expanded upon the topic?

And imagine if all the headlines from articles published by "responsible" media outlets contained halfass accurate representation of what is to follow!

(11,726 posts)The every so often, "Posts should have accurate titles and context" thread?
I agree. I am often wordy in my posts, and perhaps people tire of reading my posts and responses, but I try to communicate as if I am having a discussion. To me, that means trying to say things with context to promote a shared understanding of the topic.
It is likely, not everyone's style. I do find it frustrating when people post emotional reactions, or some short statement without identifying who, what, where, or why they are doing it.
This is a discussion board and we can certainly ignore those posts, but I am curious and tend to click into those threads, leaving them frustrated.

(38,533 posts)I have no problem ignoring topics that don't interest me, or when I feel like I have nothing to say about a topic.
It'd be nice to know the topic.

No, I don't think there needs to be more rules. Just more courtesy.

(38,533 posts)The irony is not long ago I was accused of not being clear about a topic when my post specifically had the topic in the title.
I just find it frustrating.
Don't say "Hooray! I love what (so-and-so) said!" without telling us what so-and-so said.
And there are many folks here that post even less information than that in the title.
