He's been a tremendous pain in the ass to Biden so far.

BBB, voting rights - both crucial for our future and both blocked by Manchin.

His record and history have been posted here many times. I have no trust in him, don't know why anyone would.

17. He's always voted for Biden appointees.

Manchin's primary purpose as a senator seems to be to protect the coal industry and therefore his own wealth. While some liberal judges might tend to throw a monkey wrench in those works it's not high on the list of priorities. Manchin wants to do just enough for the Dems to keep his senate seat. I see no reason why he'd oppose Jackson.

But, like the concerned Collins and others, they vote on certain crucial things exactly the way the republicon masters want. Regardless of being given free reign to be "maverick independents" on other less critical issues.

SCROTUS is crucial. Moscow Mitch may well think it worthwhile to do whatever he needs to keep Biden from successfully making any nominations and steal another seat or two.

I do hope you're right, but I'll believe it when I see it.

3. What Makes You Think There Will Be Zero?

Everyone keeps saying there will be at least a couple of repubs voting yes.

I think that Manchin will not be a road block, and he'll vote to confirm her.

some repugs voting YES for Judge Jackson, and others think Manchin will continue supporting Pres Biden's judicial appointees.
