Serious infections requiring anti-biotics means possible Sepsis, MRSA, or Pneumonia. My late Mother had all 3 at the same time. It was what killed her eventually. Not the Stage 4 cancer in her lungs and the T8 in her back.

If Thomas is still in the hospital, it could be very serious.

IV antibiotics are often routinely administered in conjunction with many surgeries.

They can be administered for pneumonia or any infection that is at risk for becoming septic or with a stubborn wound.

Although I remember when RBG was ill, and then she was back on the bench, and then wasn’t again … and then nothing?
I don’t recall hearing any notice that she was declining, or on life support or any news at all … and then it was announced she had died 😕
I thought it was strange that it was kept secret, no vigils or preparation for the public to prepare for the end, just one day announced she had died.

Am I remembering this correctly?

Every morning a suited-up fatcat would buy a newspaper on the street, glance and throw it in the trash. After much, the seller asked why. The Fatcat said he was looking for an obituary. Seller said obits are deep in the paper.

The Fatcat said, "The one I'm looking for will be on page 1 above the fold!"

Justice Thomas reported a wealth of gifts

In the last six years he has accepted free items valued at $42,200, the most on the high court.

December 31, 2004|Richard A. Serrano and David G. Savage | Times Staff Writers

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has accepted tens of thousands of dollars worth of gifts since joining the high court, including $1,200 worth of tires, valuable historical items and a $5,000 personal check to help pay a relative's education expenses.

SNIP...

He also took a free trip aboard a private jet to the exclusive Bohemian Grove club in Northern California -- arranged by a wealthy Texas real estate investor who helped run an advocacy group that filed briefs with the Supreme Court.

Those and other gifts were disclosed by Thomas under a 1978 federal ethics law that requires high-ranking government officials, including the nine Supreme Court justices, to file a report each year that lists gifts, money and other items they have received.

Thomas has reported accepting much more valuable gifts than his Supreme Court colleagues over the last six years, according to their disclosure forms on file at the court.

He’s old, diabetic and overweight. In today’s world of MRSA, covid and other serious infections, that’s not a wining combination for recovery. The longer he’s hospitalized the less likely he will make a full recovery...not impossible, but that’s the odds
