Plaintiffs Seek Capias Order for Alex Jones to Be Arrested If He Fails to Appear for Deposition

The judge and the plaintiffs are tired of Alex Jones' games

Attorneys for the plaintiffs in a defamation lawsuit against alt-right commentator Alex E. Jones requested a capias order for him to be arrested following his failure to appear for a deposition on Wednesday.

Christopher M. Mattei, of Koskoff Koskoff & Beider, asked Superior Court Judge Barbara N. Bellis to order Jones to attend his deposition at 9 a.m. Thursday (CDT) in Austin, Texas.

“We are going to exhaust every option we have to secure his testimony,” Mattei said.

Late Wednesday afternoon, Bellis ordered Jones to appear for his “duly noticed deposition, as he has not submitted additional evidence for the court to evaluate on the issue of his alleged medical conditions.”

She declined to issue a capias “at this time,” but noted that if he fails to appear again, he will be “in direct contempt of the court’s orders.”

During an emergency status conference Wednesday, Bellis indicated that she would order Jones to appear unless the defendant provided credible evidence that it was too dangerous for him to do so.

OF COURSE SHE DID.

WHY THE FUCK SHOULD THERE BE ANY ACCOUNTABILITY FOR A PIECE OF SHIT LIKE HIM?

Perhaps someone should write a strongly worded letter, asking him to show up, PRETTY PLEASE.

It's anybody that isn't well connected, or have enough prominence to get away with gaming the system time and time again.

I'm not rich, but I'm also definitely not poor. I guarantee that if this were me, even a upper middle class white man in his 50's, I'd be in deep trouble, and scrambling to figure a way out of the mess.

He's probably enjoying life, and laughing at what he has and can still get away with.

It seems that the defendant is granted an inordinate amount of time to conform with a routine and reasonable order. I certainly hope the judge has had her fill of these dilatory tactics, and finds not only Jones but his attorneys in contempt.

if you were off work longer than 3 days you had to produce a doctor's slip before you could return, because of sick leave kicking in after 3 days.

Roger Stone and his ilk have been doing this crap for decades, and nothing much ever happens to them.

Meanwhile, my neighbor didn't show up for jury duty and cops were at his door within a couple of hours.
