Real Time with Bill Maher guests - Friday, March 25, 2022

Last edited Thu Mar 24, 2022, 07:12 PM - Edit history (1)

Real Time with Bill Maher continues its 20th season Friday, March 25 (10:00-11:00 p.m. live ET/tape-delayed PT), with a replay at 11:30 p.m., exclusively on HBO.

This week features a one-on-one interview with Julia Ioffe, journalist, Russia expert and founding partner & Washington correspondent for the news site Puck. Her forthcoming book is called Russia Girl: Memoirs of a Russian Soul.

This week's in-studio panel discussion will include Sen. Jon Tester, senior Democratic Senator from Montana who serves as Chairman of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee; and John Heilemann, Executive Editor of The Recount, where he hosts the Hell & High Water podcast. He is also the creator, host & executive producer of Showtime’s The Circus.

If you have not read his book, please do. It is a quick read, and enlightening for people who are not farmers or who do not live a rural lifestyle.

I think this program would be worth the time, just to learn something about Tester.

I'll watch and see if I like Tester. Won't hate him before I see him. That's stupid.

I used to love watching Bill Maher. Religulous is one of my favorite movies. In the early days his show would have on right wing whackos and he would push back against their weirdness

Cut to recently where he just seems to legitimize them and seems to have a lot of fun with people I find thoroughly disgusting.

Is that a good enough reason for me not to watch or is something wrong with me?

for me since he loves to lecture us all on our weights, eating habits, etc. as a surefire way to end Covid - which is bullshit. He's a fat basher, pure and simple and he engages in it every week. Still makes a few good jokes, but he needs to lose the holier-than-thou attitude.

Heilemann will probably bring a gift so it could be shared before the show...

Ioffe is an interesting guest.

The only thing better, than having "Big" Jon Tester on the show, would be to have Lou Costello...

Thanks for the link to Ioffe. Tester is unique: a Democrat winning rural Montana. And Heilemann will not let Maher derail him.

We'll learn a lot from Julia Ioffe and the panel has been on there before, both solid Democrats and, like you say, won't be derailed by anything Bill has to say...

Complete fucking douchebag creeps further right with every show. Saw the guest list and decided to watch. My mistake. That last segment may as well have been read by Madison Cawthorn. Fuck you Maher.

He seems to be saying we need more toxic masculinity. That was a new low. He’s so out of touch. And this is coming from him, an insanely rich celebrity whose 5-6, 145 lbs and probably gets his nails done 3 times a week. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but don’t say todays men aren’t masculine enough if that’s you. Bill Maher wouldn’t know masculine if it used him as a fly swatter.

And as someone who is masculine according to people, a bigger guy who can handle himself, the last thing we need is more macho bull shit. Jesus, is he fucking serious? With all the horror in the world as a result of toxic masculinity, including what’s going on in Ukraine, you come with that? Weak.

At one point he talked about how cool it would be to fix a girl’s radiator, LOL, like Bull Maher has ever taken a wrench to a radiator in his entire life.
