Donald Trump sues Hillary Clinton, others over Russian collusion allegations

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/donald-trump-sues-hillary-clinton-others-over-russian-collusion-allegations-2022-03-24/

WASHINGTON, March 24 (Reuters) - Donald Trump on Thursday sued Hillary Clinton and several other Democrats, alleging they tried to rig the 2016 U.S. presidential election by tying his campaign to Russia.

ETA: Can we say MASSIVE GRIFTING OPPORTUNITY OF THE REPUBLICAN BASE RUBES ?

eta2, from same article:

"Acting in concert, the Defendants maliciously conspired to weave a false narrative that their Republican opponent, Donald J. Trump, was colluding with a hostile foreign sovereignty," the former president alleged in a lawsuit filed in federal court in Florida.

Trump, who beat Democratic nominee Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, alleges "racketeering" and a "conspiracy to commit injurious falsehood," among other claims.

In the lawsuit, Trump is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. Trump said he was "forced to incur expenses in an amount to be determined at trial, but known to be in excess of twenty-four million dollars ($24,000,000) and continuing to accrue, in the form of defense costs, legal fees, and related expenses."

$24M USD ? What total grifting BS.

Right about the time when his lawyers get really demanding about being paid and when he would get totally embarrassed by discovery. Even after legal fees (which, I forgot, the RNC will probably be paying for), he will put in his own pockets millions of USD from the rubes.

Clinton et al should countersue to keep the process going even after he wants to back out.

Can you plead the 5th when you are the plaintiff in a lawsuit? Also doesn't executive privilege go away?

Time for Clinton to do a little fishing.

filed the lawsuit in Florida. The guy (whose name I missed) also wrote a book about his time w/ TFG.

Am not an attorney, so I have a question: Would filing this suit somehow prevent trump from being subpoenaed, deposed, or testifying in the numerous lawsuits -- or the Jan. 6 investigation -- that he faces? Am remembering all the times djt said he couldn't produce his tax returns because he was being audited.

Trump's allegations in the lawsuit are undermined by a 966-page report issued by a Republican-led U.S. Senate committee in August 2020. That report concluded that Russia used Republican political operative Paul Manafort and the WikiLeaks website to try to help Trump win the 2016 election.

All right, let's get Paul Manafort, Julian Assange, and everyone named in the Senate report to come in and give their sworn deposition testimony. The Notice of Dismissal will probably have scorch marks on it from the haste with which the former guy's attorneys decide this wasn't such a good idea.

Former President Donald Trump sued Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Party and several others, alleging a vast conspiracy to malign his character and cast doubt on the legitimacy of his 2016 election win.

The suit, filed Thursday in federal court in Florida, named more than a dozen defendants, many of whom have long been vilified in right-wing media as enemies of Trump. In addition to Clinton, they include former Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey, Clinton Campaign Chair John Podesta, and British intelligence ex-agent Christopher Steele.
