Two of our sitting SC justices were appointed for a lifetime despite serious accusations.

One of those is Clarence Thomas, who was credibly accused of sexual harassment by Anita Hill in 1991. The incredibly serious accusations were ignored and he was given a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land.

The other is Brett Kavanaugh, who was credibly accused of sexual assault by Christine Blasey Ford and others in 2018. These incredibly serious accusations were disregarded, and he was given a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land.

Ketanji Brown Jackson, who has a spotless personal history, is being accused of being "soft on crime" because she did not recommend the maximum allowed sentencing for a pedophile.

In the first two cases it was the judges who were accused, and the Senate which decided to ignore the accusations as if they didn't matter. In the 3rd case, the judge is accused of being too lenient. This might make sense if we had ever seen Republicans take the side of the victimized and the oppressed - but of course this only happens when they can distort the narrative to make themselves the victims.

The hypocrisy is nauseating.
