...she is not "crazy." She is not "delusional." She is not any of those terms that we quickly use when we refer to republicans/rightwing Americans. No, she is not displaying symptoms of insanity or dementia. She is like our friends, relatives, and colleagues who work hard to take away the freedoms of marginalized and disenfranchised groups of people in the United States.
This is the same Ginni Thomas who left a message on Anita Hill's work phone (nineteen years after Hill's testimony) asking Hill for an apology.
It is not delirium.
Ginni Thomas is entitled.

(5,504 posts)Her husband is one of the leaders of the third branch of government. She has used that to become an influencer to extremist groups. They pay her. Clarence delivers with votes and opinions. Clarence can help get their cases heard. Who knows how pervasive he is behind closed doors. What are other family members of supreme court justices doing to trade influence for money? It seems like the Trump3 and Alito and Thomas have been in lock step with their decisions.
Justices only make a little over $200K a year. That's a middle class life in DC.
I'm not trying to assert a conspiracy theory here. I'm just asking questions.

Come on. That's cray-cray...far from normal,

(82,849 posts)I'll leave it to the mystics and divines to figure out whether these nutjobs truly believe the swill that pours out of their mouths. If they say it, I'm going to treat it as their most deeply held belief and respond accordingly. Same with anyone who repeats their nonsense. No backsies, no "hey it was just a joke," no "this is just to keep up appearance with the lunatic base." They own their delusions, as far as I'm concerned.

Mr. Ected
(9,674 posts)But we can assess and pinpoint her effect and influence on the USA, and in that regard, she is a clear and present danger, espousing eminently refutable gibberish as fact and leveraging her marriage to one of the most powerful men in the country to bring her afactual poppycock into the stream of consciousness in Washington. This lady wields power, albeit indirectly, but her conduit is a flawed human being mouthing words put in his mouth by a group of old white men in a smoky room.
Ginni Thomas is a traitor to her country. She should be punished and the spotlight needs to shine bright on her as a discouragement to others similarly broken who think their vision of America should drown out everybody else's.

(4,910 posts)They believe they have the right and duty to install themselves as masters of the universe in order to change America into a theocracy. They believed they had achieved the pinnacle when they controlled the House, Senate, Presidency AND the supreme court.
They are legion, and still walk amongst us. Be afraid.

(1,182 posts)most people think that's delusional or not, matters not, and in fact only reinforces their beliefs. What the thinker thinks, the prover proves. Not being able to fathom that concept, they go deeper and deeper into the abyss, dragging everyone down with them.
Facts are not facts anymore, but rather signs and sigils of something that conforms to your most tightly-held beliefs, or must be ruthlessly stamped out.
Once you are absolutely certain that you know what's really going on, that's when you've lost your greedy mind.
Acknowledging complexity and diversity instills self-doubt, while clinging to simplicity and uniformity turns you into a zealot, if you can't get out of it at some point. Sometimes it takes a hard lesson for that to occur. Pride goeth before the fall.
She strikes me as someone in that realm --tightly held beliefs, reinforced by money and power. Until the money and power is gone (or some really personal affront, like loss of a loved one) it just keeps getting worse.

(7,513 posts)former Prez. was boning his DIL. A nasty scene broke out at local hosp. DIL ends up dead. Local police handle evidence poorly. When State Police get involved evidence against Prez. son is corrupted and they can't do anything with it. There is a history of local law covering for college. Just one instance, but this one made it to TV.

(7,513 posts)Her husband was arrested. He said he had been shooting at Midvales shooting range ,explaining the gunshot residue on hands. Locals arrested him but allowed him to stop at drive through restaurant on way to jail.. This was booted around by locals, but when State police finally took over they deemed evidence botched and weren't able to really do anything. I grew up here and saw instances of police covering for college. History of police retiring and going onto Midvales security staff. One i know was head of security. One board member resigned. Official version was suicide. I have always believed otherwise. They are evil.
