Saudi Arabia controls the price of oil. They could just, you know, not pump it. mathematic Mar 2022 #6

The internet is full of bullshit secret conspiracy theories. There's no need to invent another one.

The tin foil hat icon does not mean "I'm mocking this idea". When prefaced by a secret conspiracy theory and followed by "wouldn't put it past these motherfuckers" it means "I might be crazy but hey you never know".

It's 2022, seven years after the rise of Trumpism. Long past time to retire it's-a-conspiracy-haha-only-joking posting on the internet.

I don't generally watch practice sessions, but the fact that F1 is in Jeddah this weekend is troublesome.

I really don't understand why they are racing in KSA. Ugh.
They can't even have champagne on the podium.

It boils down to the various agreements, and contracts, etc.

The drivers do not agree with the Saudi’s and other Middle-east countries human rights violations. But, do they have a choice to say “no” I will not race here? Maybe their contracts require them to drive regardless, or else.

I am thinking about Sebastian Vettel with COVID since before last week, race #1. He is very against the mistreatment and LGBTQ rights violations if I understand correctly. And now with this missile attack, this is pretty crazy.

I can’t believe that the teams have decided to stay and drive. Even the drivers finally agreed, at least as of last night’s news.

I am honestly fearful for them.

Don't understand why they will cancel a Russian Grand Prix and still race in KSA.

Makes no sense to me.

Of course, I think that is all sports at the professional level.

(And, increasingly, the amateur level).

*sigh*
