Fox is running "Benghazi" at 3:00 pm. I haven't seen it, but there are some vile, despicable, nasty threads being shared on FB wherein the Tea Baggers are OUTRAGED that only Fox is running this while the "liberal media" protects the President. Sounds like a doozy...NOT promoting Fox, just a heads up for those who may have encountered that thread...it's got thousands of shares and tens of thousands of likes.

He's been on Beck's show and I think Hannity- feeding the right's hate of Obama. He said Obama was cold and dismissive at the meeting with the families of the fallen. The serviceman's mother had a different story of course.

I grew up in Florida...the Space Coast. Virtually everybody's dad or mom was a "rocket scientist." I am stunned at the number of my 1970's school mates, in one of the most science-based parts of the country, are now hard-core righties. You know why? They ALL blame Obama for shutting down the space program. When I remind them that BUSH did that, they get upset and say, "but Obama could have reversed it!" Really? How many mainstream media obsessions have begun with this kind of drumbeat coverage at Fox?

My facebook timeline is now peppered with the outraged status lines of ordinarily quiescent Republicans just screaming bloody murder that Obama deliberately ignored at least three calls for assistance from a contingent of forces near the consulate building. When the forces finally went to try to salvage the consulate, goes the story, several of them were killed. He is saying the attacks on the consulate lasted enough hours to allow for an intervention by an armed force to have done some good. Another trope to the story involves the near location of a Delta Force that could have been sent to the consulate in time to rescue Stevens and the consulate staffers. But Obama, they say, was too involved in getting ready for a fundraiser with Jay-Z.

I've been in a conversation with a guy I've known since high school who is in hysterics about this. Of course, he cites no sources (we know his source).

It seems to me this is a story capable of getting more low-info voters to the polls than would ordinarily be the case.

Romney's SuperPACs are going to take this up and air wall-to-wall ads on this in swing states. Is the Obama campaign prepared for this?
