One Would Think The Other Supreme Court Judges Would Have The Ability To Decide....

the fate of Clarence Thomas.

He is tainting the Supreme Court which is their domain. I would think that they wouldn't want their court to be held in question here and be discredited by one of their own.

They should have the ability to vote amongst themselves to impeach Thomas.

After all - they are the Supreme Court.

They should have jurisdiction on themselves. This Ginnie Thomas thing is a black mark on Roberts himself. It's should be his responsibility to make sure no scandal taints this branch of Government.

A Supreme Court Justice can leave office in only 3 ways, resignation, death, or impeachment and conviction. No other method exists, and any new method would require an Amendment.

How about the 8 that are not Clarence Thomas threaten to resign in mass if he doesn't resign?

If he refuses to go, it would open up 8 seats to be filled by President Biden.

Yeah, I know. That is CRAZY. But it made me smile.

Thomas just fills a necessary slot, keeping it out of a moderate or liberal's hands.

Justice William O Douglas, a great liberal Justice and a standout for civil rights and liberties, unfortunately lost his mental faculties late in life. He began telling other Justices that trees could file lawsuits and other matters. The Justices began to hold cases where Douglas' vote might make a difference. Finally his caretakers got him to retire.

A - That sets up another Biden nominee, and B - Leaves a wide open door for Kavanaugh to be next ... and possibly others.

9. Should it not be up to the senate to write some rules for the supreme court to follow?

They are the ones confirming justices to the position, they should have ethic rules and regulations.

Probably a good thing honestly. Can you imagine every congress getting to interfere with the Supreme Court? Not a good thing.

I see major flaws. If the senate selects the justices and can determine the number of justices, you would think they could write some rules the same as they have for all other federal judges. Everything is so politicized when some things just should not be. I like our system in Canada better and better as I learn more.

"The Supreme Court of Canada consists of nine judges, including the Chief Justice of Canada, who are appointed by the Governor in Council and all of whom must have been either a judge of a superior court or a member of at least ten years' standing of the bar of a province or territory. A Judge holds office during good behaviour, until he or she retires or attains the age of 75 years, but is removable for incapacity or misconduct in office before that time by the Governor General on address of the Senate and House of Commons."

13. If a majority vote by the justices could remove other justices

then by the end of Trump's term, there would have been no liberal justices left. (theoretically)

At the very least it would have to be a unanimous vote by the other eight justices.

never even criticize one of their own publicly, what makes anyone think they would exercise any proposed power to discipline them.
