Reporters on the ground in the war zone say the one thing they have never heard, not even once, was complaining.
I heard a story about a 67 year old Ukrainian man who could have fled the country but chose instead to stay and fight.
For all the poignancy of women and children leaving on trains and tearfully saying goodbye, none has expressed regret. Indeed, there are stories of some of these women getting their children settled in Europe or elsewhere and returning to Ukraine to fight.
Outnumbered and outgunned, they are actually causing the Russians to retreat. They are regaining control of areas and, indeed, cities.
The Ukrainians now have more tanks than when this war started thanks to their success at capturing them from the Russians.
The Ukrainians has sunk a few ships.
So much more.
I am put in mind of the 300 Spartans and the Israelis who freed their captured citizens at Entebbe Airport.
Bravery manifests in many ways. Imagine the Little Rock Nine as but one example.
I am in awe of them all . . . . .

Yes the Ukrainians are amazing and maybe slightly delusional - in a good way!
