(25,783 posts)I will offset the additional 💲 spent on fuel by being more mindful and selective with other purchases - foregoing items that I dont need as badly as originally thought. Its also a good time to reflect upon the purchases I do make, steering clear of companies whose practices run contrary to my values.

(35,342 posts)This morning I drove through one of NJ's lovely neighborhoods and saw people walking their dogs, doing their daily run, or going to the train station. I thought about how I could enjoy the spring flowers popping out on the trees and garden beds as I drove down the street--and then I thought about the ugly fires and explosions we see on television in Ukraine.
I thought about how the train station here was just a transfer point, where the train stations we see on television have people waiting as much as three days to get out.
And it goes on. There isn't a thing that I do where I am not thinking about the ease I have in doing it in a country that is only beset by morons yammering on television about the first black female judge. That's not good and they are a threat, but at least it isn't interfering with my ability to conduct my life, at least at this moment.
