I've ever heard in my 63 years.
Thank you, President Biden, for standing for liberty and democracy!

(5,219 posts)this is a new step towards entering this conflict. Putin is attempting to force us to do the moral and humanitarian thing to save human life. I agree, He must be stopped somehow. I'm afraid after this speech. More than I have been. Lord help the world.

(5,219 posts)what he said. He is correct. But I fear escalation and a larger War. Can our divided country pull together and win it? I fear the crazies won't come together as a nation. Will our young people from all around our country agree to fight? So many unknowns.

They give me hope.
And even the majority of Rethuglicans are supporting Ukraine, not Putin.

(4,237 posts)and emphatically say that Putin is a LIAR. That he is LYING. Putin puts on the charm and starts gas lighting (LYING) everyone. And, unfortunately, so many find it easy to believe him. I've seen CNN/MSNBC hosts quote Putin, and then are puzzled that his words don't match his actions. And many people are dying/suffering/losing their homes/their loved ones.

(2,598 posts)I felt I needed to at least here one minute of Fox News after the speech
They did have one guy who was pretty well in line with what we heard, which was a great speech. Then they went to somebody I have not seen before who kept saying that President Biden was not showing leader ship. WTF?
What doesnt fox just get a quote directly from Putin himself?
Luckily, they did correct him when he said Biden never said Ukraine would win. That was just an out right lie and it did get corrected.

(8 posts)From a White House official after Biden's speech: The Presidents point was that Putin cannot be allowed to exercise power over his neighbors or the region. He was not discussing Putins power in Russia, or regime change.
Gesh! Let the President speak for himself. I dont get the undercut.

(15,265 posts)saying we should replace our president? It was an unfortunate choice of words. No surprise WH walked it back right away.

(8 posts)I heard Biden calling for regime change in Russia. I agree with that sentiment, it was concise and needed to be said out loud. The spokesperson didnt need to try and interpret or water down the comment. Im not a big Biden supporter of his domestic polices including of his lack to address student debt; but on this issue, he has 100% of my support.

(2,705 posts)Any interpretation of them as his endorsing regime change is missing the mark. He is praying Russians will ensure Putin is no longer in the position he holds now.
I can see that's easy to misinterpret, but not one thing makes me think that Biden has a plan to oust Putin directly.
