Missiles strike city near Polish border during Joe Biden's Warsaw visit
Multiple powerful explosions have struck the Ukrainian city of Lviv, just 40 miles away from the border with Poland during US president Joe Biden's visit to Warsaw.
Authorities said on Saturday afternoon three heavy explosions, thought to be missiles, had been heard from the direction of Kryvchytsy, on the eastern outskirts of Lviv.
"Now there is an air raid warning, so keep calm and take shelter", the regional Governor Maksym Kozytskyy said in an online post, as residents were urged to stay indoors. At least five people were reportedly wounded.
The strike comes as Mr Biden is currently on a visit to the Polish capital, where he stressed his "sacred commitment" to Nato's system of mutual defence ahead of a key speech this evening.
