My heart still goes out to President Biden when he stumbles over a word or phrase.

He's strong, he's capable, and he's the President we need right now. But I keep my fingers crossed for him throughout his speeches. I want to tell him: "You've got this, Joe."

I think he does a darned good job and should be an inspiration to others who stutter. I understand your concern, I cross my fingers also.

He told me that he has 20 or so children/young adults who stutter who he keeps in contact with. We have seen Joe's compassion for young people who stutter on a couple of occasions

make zero sense and that’s fine - President Biden stumbles on a word or phrase and it’s a catastrophe- Fuck that.

Darkest hour. When he passed it was clear just how beloved he was.

Yes, a different time. All the same President Biden is the man rising to the challenges like no other, and is dearly loved and appreciated!

17. The King's Speech is one of Joe's favorite movies

In Biden’s office, the first time I bring up his current stuttering, he asks me whether I’ve seen The King’s Speech. He speaks almost mystically about the award-winning 2010 film. “When King George VI, when he stood up in 1939, everyone knew he stuttered, and they knew what courage it took for him to stand up at that stadium and try to speak—and it gave them courage … I could feel that. It was that sinking feeling, like—oh my God, I remember how you felt. You feel like, I don’t know … almost like you’re being sucked into a black hole.”

Presidential candidates usually don’t speak about their bleakest moments, certainly not this viscerally. It resembles the way Biden writes in his memoir about the aftermath of the 1972 car accident that killed his first wife and young daughter and critically injured his two sons, Beau and Hunter: “I could not speak, only felt this hollow core grow in my chest, like I was going to be sucked inside a black hole.”

A few weeks later, I ask Jill Biden what she remembers about sitting next to her husband during the movie. “It was one of those moments in a marriage where you just sort of understand without words being spoken,” she says.

As he watched The King’s Speech, Biden accurately guessed that the screenwriter, David Seidler, was a stutterer. “He showed me a copy of a speech they found in an attic that the king had actually used, where he marks his—it’s exactly what I do!” Biden tells me, his voice lifting. “My staff, when I have them put something on a prompter—I wish I had something to show you.”

I tend to feel overly empathetic at times and one of those is times is when Biden slips up on a word or phrase. Then I remind myself that he's a big boy, a grown man, in fact. The president of the United States in fact. Also, a man who has lived with stuttering his whole life and has learned to be chill with the occasional flub. I think by now that he is beyond cool with an occasional stutter.

My point to my fellow empaths is this: he's got this. It is us who become concerned about it, not Joe.

President Biden has so much going through his mind ay any given second and he's trying to give an honest answer while protecting world peace. I challenge anyone to do a better job. He talks from the heart and not a script that a speech writer has prepared. Basically what I'm saying is is that he's trying to be as honest as he can without being a macho blowhard and protecting the people he's sworn to protect. THANK GOD JOE BIDEN IS OUR PRESIDENT! The world is much safer because he is!

I will be talking to someone and the words just aren't there. They come back usually in a few seconds.

I think your brain just gets so full that sometimes it takes a second for the right memory to surface.

I stuttered until fourth grade. I got to discuss stuttering with Joe at a fund raiser during the private meet and greet portion of such event. During this greet and meet, Joe told me about the children who stutter he keeps in touch with. This clip discusses the children Joe tries to help and discusses the King's Speech

I listen closely to Joe's speeches, and I can tell when he is using breaks and pauses. If you never stuttered or had speech therapy, these breaks are hard to see. Joe and I discuss that our stutter shows up when we are tired or stressed.

Joe spoke the truth about Putin last night and these comments were not due to stuttering but reflect what Joe and a large number of people feel about Putin and this war. Putin will not stop this war himself and Putin needs to be out of power if we want to stop this war and the other wars that Putin clearly plans to pursue

Putin will not stop with Ukraine and must be stopped

Putin would not stop at Ukraine and would go after the Baltic states and Poland next if his military was up to the job.
