"SNIP.......
Robert Foster (R), a former Mississippi House lawmaker who lost a 2019 bid for governor, called for the execution of those who support the rights of transgender people, the Mississippi Free Press reports.
Said Foster: The law should be changed so that anyone trying to sexually groom children and/or advocating to put men pretending to be women in locker rooms and bathrooms with young women should receive the death penalty by firing squad.
......SNIP"

(6,972 posts)Are all the GQP US Taliban Putin Party has. If the truth be told, these culture wars are starting to drawing people's support who'd normally NOT support such shit unfortunately, but due to religious reasons.

(1,962 posts)Culture war shit would be arguing over whether a teenager should be allowed to play Grand Theft Auto V, or all the pearl-clutching in the 80's over MTV and rock videos.
This is outright bigotry, terrorism and fascism.
It'd be nice if the Democrats decided to be shout louder than the QOP about this, instead of letting them frame the dialogue - as usual.

In recent weeks, in an attempt to better inform readers about candidates in the upcoming Republican gubernatorial primary, Mississippi Today has asked to shadow each contender seeking the GOP nomination.
Bill Waller, a former state supreme court chief justice, and Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves agreed to ride alongs with Mississippi Today reporter Adam Ganucheau.
The other candidate state Rep. Robert Foster, R-Hernando declined my request to shadow his campaign, however, because I am a woman.

(9,988 posts)They couch it in "evolutionary psychology" and insist people like us shouldn't exist because it makes no sense because heterosexual reproduction is the point of evolution or whatever.
Atheist authoritarian regimes have historically been almost as quick to kill and imprison us as theocracies are. I'm not saying patriarchal religion isn't a factor, it absolutely is. But the absence of it doesn't really guarantee safety.
Mariana
(14,854 posts)It is true in this case. Robert Foster is a Christian.

(63,221 posts)reproduced either, and many of us are hetero. Just don't want kids and don't think it's a good idea to bring them into this world. Why can't people just mind their own business? Both religious and non-relgious (although the religious are worth).
What is it that makes them such control freaks? People who are LGBTQ and/or childless aren't affecting their personal lives in any way. Why can't they just live and let live?
