If you are looking fo a "feel good" post, move on. This is a RANT!

Let's stop all of the pretending, ok?

ONE DAMN THIRD of our federal government's power and authority, the Judicial branch, one of the three created by our Constitution, has been so compromised by TRANSPARENT corruption, incompetence and rigid partisanship that its credibility as a fair and impartial arbiter is evaporating before our eyes!

This will disgust and outright piss off some but, in my opinion, the last three "Justices" appointed are BOGUS. That's the kindest term I can muster. Gorsuch's seat, of course, should have been Garland's. On top of that, Kavanaugh and Barrett, AKA "Boof Boy" and the "Handmaiden", are wearing SCOTUS robes only because Dark Money and right-wing nut jobs fitted them for them. They are both moral pygmies and Barrett's only "qualification" is that, yes, she does have a law degree. And, let's not ignore that all three of these "jurists" were nominated by a madman who lost the popular vote but gained the White House with the criminal assistance of Vladimir Putin.

And, all of the above just sets the stage for Clarence "Pubic Hair" Thomas and "Ginni", his Eva Braun wannabe wife.

DON'T waste anyone's time "debating" whether HE knew and approved of everything SHE said and did. He is the "best friend" she mentions in her emails to then-Trump's-Chief-of-Staff Meadows. Trump, Meadows, Ginni AND Clarence were part of a conspiracy to forcefully overthrow the U. S government!

It is saying a lot but, in my opinion, Clarence Thomas is the most despicable person on this Potemkin SCOTUS and yet, the SONOFABITCH is currently expected to be one of the votes needed to keep Trump's and Meadows' and Ginni's pasty asses out of prison!

This needs a hell of a lot more attention than it is getting---and I don't mean by calm bloodless TV talkers who think it is necessary to "discuss" whether anything is really wrong. I want to hear intelligent people who are justifiably OUTRAGED by this shit show and not reluctant to show it!

Either "something is done" about this foulness or SCOTUS will entirely lose its respect in the eyes of Americans. As mentioned at the outset, the Court is one third of our government.

What happens to a three-legged stool when one leg fails?

This highlights fundamental flaws with the judiciary branch. There is no structural oversight. Oversight is based on the honor system. But, as we know, there is no honor among thieves.

As I posted on another thread, this scandal only makes Clarence and Ginni more popular among the Christo Facist group. She'll probably start charging more for her services.

And yet Bragg says he wont indict, and we wait and we wait and we wait for DOJ...for me waiting is only half of the problem, the other half is knowing in my GUT Garland will never indict the traitor.

I know you just posted an opinion on stuff that bothers many of us, but trying to equate this to a failure of the DNC vs. GOP isn't fair.

Unless I've misread Atticus's excellent rant, this about the failure of the process of getting credible and honest justices on the Supreme Court.

How can this be part of your upset with Garland and Bragg?

I am pointing out that a chief Justice who is a righty can have a spouse do these horrible things and not be held accountable by the law, their party or the media.

But if a non righty justice or spouse was involved it would be entirely different, this has NOTHING to do with my rant about DOJ or Manhattan.

It is just that I am so angry and so OUT of patience that I sometimes can write in short hand and that isnt always the best way to express myself.

Having said that this is ALL about GOP vs DNC...one side has rules that the media and populace will apply in every case and at the drop of the hat, the other does not.

Let me ask you, do you think the majority of the American people are aware of how close we are to a total annihilation of our democracy specifically because of MAGA and red states deciding when they will apply rule of law and when they won't to things like elections? And that if they are not, they need to be and need to be made aware of it NO MATTER WHAT? ---I have a follow up if you think they are NOT aware but need to be.

is the issue. It's that "mountain top" to which we have been aspiring since the beginning. Ain't got there yet, so they ain't defending nothing at this point. Just a bunch of rabble-rousing until enough folks have had enough of it. We should know real soon in that regard.

At this point we're just trying to skip past the part where we descend into a more fascist-like state for awhile. I'm hopeful in this regard, since everybody here don't wanna take no shit off of nobody, no how, no way, all the time.

Because we're Americans, goddamnit! And we are ugly that way.. by design. We're the "wretched refuse" of the planet, all in one place. Mean, devious, but also unbelievably forgiving and kind, especially in our worst moments.

Mon Mar 28, 2022, 01:40 PM

In my opinion, such a monumental decision as indicting a former President of the United States, must be made by
the current President of The United States. That is my opinion. Garland, no matter what he does or says, MUST
consult with Biden.

.. I am not sure of the history or the protocol, but I am sure that on that decision Biden must be consulted before
any decision is made. Biden will ultimately decide this question. On a decision this great, the current President is
the only one to make it....One more very important point:

.. Biden is not new. He is highly qualified not only in his experience but intelligence and sensitivity..(in my opinion)
Joe Biden has seen it all. You name it, Joe has seen it. Just think about what Joe has been through. He may be
the most qualified individuals to ever hold this office. Joe Biden is a gift to be our current President.

And one thing is for sure: Joe has no qualms about asking for help from his friend Barack, or from other world
leakers. He may be one of the greatest gift this nation has ever gotten. Time will tell, but I believe Joe will
end of as one of the greatest Presidents of The United States ever!!!

but is also supposed to be independent from it.

Having seen what happened in the previous administration, I am inclined to believe that is the way it should be. I have no problem with the AG discussing any cade oe cases with the President ... nor with anyone else the AG considers to be a source of good advice. But I do think the decision should be the AG's in the end. Otherwise, we get Bill Barr.

Yes, I realize the previous administration was corrupt as hell whereas the current one is squeaky clean. But I don't think one rule for the clean and another for the dirty can be sustained. What used to be the Republica Party is destroying itself before our eyes by having different rules for them and for everyone else.

They are held to their own rules and codes of ethics.

Congress can impeach but it is extremely unlikely, even in a fair legislative body.

The Senate also sets many of its own rules which is why we have someone like McConnell exerting way too much influence.

There needs to be a re-investigation of how our democratic republic (or whatever we call it) is formulated. Something dreamed up 250+ years ago (and based on principles from 1,000+ years before) may need a bit of tweaking.

and that is less due to clinkers like Thomas and Kavanaugh, who never should have been confirmed, and more due to the antics of Mitch McConnell and his blatant plliticization of the confirmation process. You want to blame somebody, blame that bastard.

As for Ginni Thomas, this is SOP for her. An investigation should be opened, including her finances, to make sure there was no real fire behind all that hot air. If there was, deal with her the way other serious planners and funders should be dealt with.

The only real remedy I can see for the USSC is an expansion. The number was set at nine when there were nine district courts, one for each Justice to oversee. Now there are thirteen district courts and the number of justices should be increased to reflect that. It's not that extraordinary a step and it can be taken over McConnell's howls of protest, both to lighten the judicial workload and to redress naked politicization of the court by one evil old man with a grudge against this country.

He won't howl for long, he's not a well man.

I read a piece when Biden was elected maybe by Steve Schmidt but it said that Biden must use executive orders to advance the Democratic agenda and not worry about if SCOTUS will overturn. If only we can pick up more seats in 2022 then I would love to see DC and Puerto Rico statehood along with an expanded SCOTUS.
