Ann Romney: "We need to throw out (public schooling)"

I'm 100% sure she'll say that is quoted out of context, or that she misspoke. But it's completely unambiguous they want to outright end public schooling, just like they want to outright end social security, and any other kind of public services.

We have to sift through soft-ball interviews and watch campaign ads to get even a broad sense of what a Romney Presidency might be like, but if you’re genuinely curious, I thought I’d bring you a small piece of information that concerns your children that I was able to tease out of a hard-hitting Good Housekeeping piece:

AR: I’ve been a First Lady of the State. I have seen what happens to people’s lives if they don’t get a proper education. And we know the answers to that. The charter schools have provided the answers. The teachers’ unions are preventing those things from happening, from bringing real change to our educational system. We need to throw out the system.

Wow. The Romney’s are going to throw out the public school system. As a parent and public school supporter I’m grateful she saw fit to reveal this tantalizing clue.

Put the K-12 public education system on the pile along with Medicare, Medicaid, and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. We’re getting rid of these things, to bring “real change.” It will be a real change, no doubt. That part of the (latest) media-Romney marketing campaign is true.

might also make them persona non grata in Utah.

Queen Ann will want to move someplace she can be the arbiter of polite (read, rich as Croesus) society. Places like Roatan off the coast of right wing Honduras beckon, I think she'd find it quite seductive, especially once she'd driven the indigenous people back to the mainland, forcing them to take long ferry trips daily to clean her toilets.

Instead of educating the best and brightest, the Ann Romneys of the world only want to educate the richest. That's part of their plan to take us back to the days feudalism.

Which is how much tuition costs in the school the Romney kids went to. I am sure schools and teachers in public schools could do great things with this type of money.

And this guy wants to be President to what population of people?

Unbelievable. Can't wait to keep living here if this guy is elected. Might was well go to hell for all the fun left in the US for anyone other than the wealthy.

Cannon fodder is an informal, derogatory term for military personnel who are regarded or treated as expendable in the face of enemy fire. The term is generally used in situations where soldiers are forced to deliberately fight against hopeless odds (with the foreknowledge that they will suffer extremely high casualties) in an effort to achieve a strategic goal.

The Romney's would be happy to send off your son's and daughter's , but NEVER their own family or their kids.. All dhickenhawks.

13. Ann Romney did you read this? Failed Orlando charter principal gets massive buyout
Sun Oct 28, 2012, 05:38 PM
Oct 2012

The principal of a failed Orange County charter school took home a check for more than $500,000 as the school closed down in June and is still being paid thousands of dollars a month to wrap up the school’s affairs.

The check for $519,453.36 in taxpayer money was cut to Kelly Young, principal of NorthStar High School, two days after the Orange County School Board accepted the school’s plan to close in lieu of being shut down for poor performance.

The payment, which was authorized by the charter school’s independent board, appears to be legal.

But Orange County School Board chairman Bill Sublette is outraged at the payout, calling it “a shameful abuse of public tax dollars” and “immoral.”

State Sen. David Simmons called for a thorough investigation. “There’s no room for abuse by charter or traditional schools,” Simmons said. “All it does is hurt children.”

Attention; ANN ROMNEY; ANOTHER CORRUPT CHARTER SCHOOL (but great $$$$ for all your rich friends.. forget the kids.

Ann Romney wants to throw out the
public school system, endorse high paid Charter School (Teachers?), who teach the kids What to think, not How to think. Another money maker for the 1% like Queen Annie and her family.. I can't wait till they all go away.

public education. She went to Kingswood, the female side of Cranbrook, and he went to Cranbrook. I just googled the costs there and now it costs $45,980 for nine months to attend. Thank God for public schools where the majority of us received our education.

25. One of the co-chairs of the National Educators for Romney Coalition has a diploma mill doctorate

Nov 2012

The Romney Campaign wants to throw out public education and replace with what??? I've forwarded the following information to several media outlets with no response. I believe this appointment truly shows the Romney dedication to education...

One of the co-chairs of the National Educators for Romney Coalition has a diploma mill doctorate...On September 12, 2012 a Tampa Bay Times “Gradebook blog” post by Jeff Solochek reported, “Dr. John Giotis, headmaster of The School of the Immaculata, was named one of 14 national honorary co-chairs of the National Educators for Romney coalition, which is officially headed by former U.S. education secretary Rod Paige.” I believe John Giotis, current co-chair of the Pinellas County presidential campaign to elect Mitt Romney warrants some investigation. At present, he refers himself Dr. Giotis and holds a “doctoral” degree from La Salle University of Mandeville, Louisiana, a well-known diploma mill that was exposed by the journalists of 60 Minutes and closed by the FBI. A timeline of the fraudulent LaSalle University can be found at … http://www.chugachconsumers.org/lib/lasallechronology.htm

Mr. Giotis has claimed to have been victimized by the fraudulent LaSalle institution and although it seems clear that he does not hold a valid doctoral degree, he continues to use the title of “doctor” and in many writings lists his name with D. Ed. Examples can be found at… http://www.ccpcfl.org/articles/Guests/Giotis/Jesus-capitalist.htm. In addition, his name is listed as Dr. Giotis on the school’s website…www.immaculataschool.com as well as listed as Dr. John Giotis, a 2010 financial advisor/presenter of “Best Budgeting and Finance Practices for Christian Schools” for the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (FACCS)… www.faccs.org/assets/Uploads/2010-Workshop-Block-Schedule5.pdf

Using such a title and presenting yourself as having earned a doctorate of education seems a clear violation of Florida law…

Title XLVI Crimes, Chapter 817 Fraudulent Practices
817.567 Making false claims of academic degree or title
(1) No person in the state may claim, either orally or in writing, to possess an academic degree, as defined in s. 1005.02, or the title associated with said degree, unless the person has, in fact, been awarded said degree from an institution that is:
(a) Accredited by a regional or professional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Commission on Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation

Mr. Giotis has been very active in Republican politics in Pinellas County as the current co-chair of the Romney campaign, a coordinator of the Yes2Marriage initiative and a campaign operative for Pam Bondi, our current State Attorney General. The Pinellas County Educational Facility Authority http://www.pinellascounty.org/bcc-agenda/2011_07_26/2011_07_26/30.pdf includes a pdf document, Giotis’ resume is attached and an asterisk notes his Doctor of Education degree as having been earned through the “LaSalle Education Corporation [which] was a legal but unaccredited degree granting institution”.

Clearly, I’m not a fan of Mr. Giotis and may have an admittedly tainted perception. I am simply tired of an individual of such questionable integrity continuing to seek to influence others in our community
