More on the acquaintaince who allegedly attended the 1/6 rally
I can't say that she was part of the insurrection. What I know comes second hand. But a friend of hers told me that the woman had attended the rally and had taken an American flag to pose with along with another friend. Ever since then I have been looking for opportunities to observe for myself to see if this is something that needs to be referred to the FBI, and I won't do it, until I'm sure.
So far, what I have seen isn't pleasant. Either the person has completely changed from the person I remember, or I never knew her at all.
A, she's changed. I hardly recognize her. Aging faster than the rest of us. Looks like a Caucasian who spent far too much time in the sun in their youth, and is now spending way too much money on expensive skin products. Outside of the fact that the skin pigment is even, why bother, really?
B, she's picked up the lingo of the lower Florida updo east coast. The language is a socially expected form of uppity. i.e. it doesn't matter where in Central Florida you actually live in, when you go to visit them they always introduce you as coming from Winter Park. Even if they're introducing you to a sales clerk! (Seriously, this happened to me.) Plus points if they can discretely put someone down: "Yes, we live in the same county, but I actually live on the island. And of course, come visit me on the Finger Lakes."
C, drinks like a fish. Like, as excessively as our parent's generation. Just hits a wall and disappears to sleep it off.
So, Inside the MAGA circle, it does look like there is possibly some common traits. They do seem to think they're from a higher status than their bank accounts can justify. But they also have been around enough money to know how to blend into a social class that includes potential for internships into private firms for their children and all those other benies that we associate with entitlement and privilege. And the part that gets me, is that they are never ashamed to come right out and ask.
But, still, outside of being a typical caricature of a MAGA, I can't confirm she was at the scene of the crime. Not yet.
