you don't get to just walk up on stage at an event like that. Makes me think it was a setup.

It took Smith a little time to get to the stage. Why wasn't he stopped? Bad optics?
I'm reminded that one of the reasons John Wilkes Booth figured it would be a good idea to shoot Lincoln in the theater is because he was a famous actor and everyone involved with the play knew him well.

(15,390 posts)Plus security can't be trusted not to leak what is scripted. It would also be impossible to script everything.

(8,052 posts)have thought this was a planned thing, or the director/producer told them to stand down because it was going to be a magical fun improvised moment. Not one person, I'm sure, thought Will Smith would lose his fucking mind and assault Rock onstage.
