(14,742 posts)Usually as you get close to an indictment you need attorneys specializing in specific areas like forensic accounting, or international law, or constitutional law, etc.
You don't need them during investigation or analysis.
Or it could be they want someone to run to starbucks.

DENVERPOPS
(8,817 posts)do they think that it will take to get them "up to speed"........
April-May-June-July-August-September-October.
"SOMEONE" should have realized what they were up against on January 7th, and immediately hired hundreds more DOJ people than this. In addition to hundreds more FBI agents, and Secret Service Agents. And, all screened for "closeted" loyalty to Trump and Republicans.

(58,785 posts)And while we're on the subject, for the first time in history, a federal judge just ruled that a sitting president committed a crime. His ruling also states the need for "investigating and pursuing accountability for those responsible."

(23,224 posts)IANAL, but it strikes me as more of a dictum, an aside--but a darn sharp-pointed one, too pointed for DOJ to ignore, IMHO.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)say what you just did -- that when a federal judge makes a statement like that it reverberates through the investigators'/prosecutors' offices.
It's a really big deal.

(21,323 posts)103 days since the select committee sent the criminal referral to DOJ.
75 days since the Michigan AG sent the fake elector referral to DOJ.
Don't know how long its been since the National Archives asked DOJ to find the missing confidential documents.

(15,601 posts)How many days since the SCOTUS ruling against Trumps privilege claim and the resulting document dump?
How many days since Pences COS, who was in the room when the coup was being plotted, since he testified?
Why dont you include the day counts for those events that are critical to the investigation of the Trump crimes?

(7,281 posts)cuz if this is really truly factually new "news: issued today on March 28th of 2022, I'm gonna sit down have a cleansing cry session.
And after that, do like I've had to do all my life since I was youngster. Accept the horrid gut wrenching facts at face value, and move the fuck on.
Because this tease is just that, a fucking tease. An empty, hollow, tease.
Designed to keep us strung along, just long enough for other major events to capture our attention so that this simply fades into history.

(9,981 posts)committed a felony in regard to trying to prevent Congress from certifying a legal election. The judge would have read Eastmans emails and known exactly what was in them. Having a federal judge point out the likelihood that a crime was committed could be forcing Garland off the fence to get moving.

(5,770 posts)The president's budget proposal is largely a symbolic document that is meant to score political points and set a direction for the party. It signals intent, it is aspirational, it's something a bit more, but not much more, than a press release.
I'm not sure how the DOJ is going to add lawyers before the budget proposal is enacted. And I'm not sure if it will actually be enacted.
