Sanctions on Cuba and Iran

In listening to discussions on sanctions on Russia, I'm wondering:
Do we still have sanctions on these countries? Any more?
What are our goals for these?
Especially Cuba. It doesn't seem like a threat.

1. Yes, sanctions still in effect for Cuba.

It prevents them from having safe tap water.

2. We were in Cuba 6, 7 years ago on a "humanitarian" visit....... it was about 12 of us.

We were actually there to see the country, and enjoy everything, but we had to say it was a humanitarian visit in order to get entry. Everyone brought stuff (bandages, all sorts of stuff) to give to those who came to inspect us...

It is an AMAZING country, clean, beautiful, and the people so friendly... I felt bad when we left, leaving them behind .........

The one thing that we noticed is that we WERE ALWAYS FOLLOWED.... it was a weird feeling.

4. My tour of the island in 2018 was with approved tour guides and

we were not followed. In fact, we were serenaded with American rock 'n roll music by the Cuban army.

I agree: beautiful country and warm, enterprising people.

3. To satisfy right-wing Cubans and Venezuelans in Florida.

So that next time there is coup, they can steal their stuff back.
