(19,558 posts)Ukraine has been a divided nation, with an opposition party to Zelenskyy until Russia invaded them and began the wholesale slaughter of their people. There, not unlike here, Russian propaganda was prevalent and many people strongly believed Putin would never do what he's done.
I honestly don't know if we'd unite under such circumstances, but I want to assume we might.
I don't get the Garland reference, FWIW.

I don't get the reference to Ukraine, though. Their politics have been a mixed bag (kind of like here) until the invasion brought them all together. What they never wanted to believe could happen did, and much more horribly than anyone could have imagined.
