I expected the intro: the bespoke logo touting that it came from The Office of Donald J. Trump with a simplified version of the presidential seal in the middle. And I expected the title, since its always the same title: Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America.
And then poetry.
Many people are asking, so Ill give it to you now, it is 100% true, the message began. While playing with the legendary golfer, Ernie Els, winner of four Majors and approximately 72 other tournaments throughout the world, Gene Sauers, winner of the Senior U.S. Open, Ken Duke, and Mike Goodes, both excellent tour players, I made a hole-in-one.
Thats what the message is about. Trumps hole-in-one.
----------------
He continued.
It took place at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, on the 7th hole, which was playing 181-yards into a slight wind, Trump said before quickly upgrading the wind he faced. I hit a 5-iron, which sailed magnificently into a rather strong wind, with approximately 5 feet of cut, whereupon it bounced twice and then went clank, into the hole. These great tour players noticed it before I did because their eyes are slightly better, but on that one hole only, their swings werent.
Anyway, theres a lot of chatter about it, quite exciting, and people everywhere seem to be asking for the facts, Trumps statement continued. Playing with that group of wonderful, talented players was a lot of fun. The match was Ernie and me (with no strokes) against Gene, Mike, and Ken. I wont tell you who won because I am a very modest individual, and you will then say I was braggingand I dont like people who brag!

(5,396 posts)#45's plans to be resurrected on the political stage.
and
finally, #45 himself.
Why anyone still pays attention to this unsuccessful has-been is beyond me.
But #45 has left two great legacies.
He has shown voting is important.
He has shown the title doesn't maketh the man.

My dad play a little over a hundred rounds and got a couple hole-in-ones.
My one BIL plays every weekend and got quite a few, often on one of Trump's courses.
Heck, the guy I bought my house from got a bunch and even won a car doing it in one tournament.

(42,557 posts)Really drives home how Trump cheats at EVERYTHING. No issue too big, no issue too small.
As well as reporting routine rule violations, with sources including the PGA Tour pro Brad Faxon and the actor Samuel L Jackson, Reilly wrote about Trumps habit of claiming dubious feats.
Donalds Trumps boast about winning 18 club championships, Reilly wrote, is a lie thats so over-the-top Crazytown it loses all credibility among golfers the second its out of his mouth.
Reilly also wrote that Trump International in West Palm Beach, Florida, now the site of Trumps claimed hole-in-one, has a plaque on the wall that lists all the men whove won the mens club championship. Trump appears three times: 1999, 2001, and 2009. But hold on. The course wasnt even open in 1999.
Reilly also examined Trumps claim to have a handicap of 2.8. The man generally considered the greatest golfer of all time, Jack Nicklaus, plays off 3.4. In Reillys words: If Trump is a 2.8, Queen Elizabeth is a pole vaulter.

(47,430 posts)"People everywhere seem to be asking for the facts"??? Who are these "many" people? The voices in his demented brain?
With all the things going on in the world today, NOBODY is talking about Trump's golf game. He can't stand not being the center of attention all the time.

(65,042 posts)He may have lucked into an ace, but he didn't hit a 5 iron 181 yards into the wind.
At no point in his lying life, with that swing, did he hit a 5 iron that far.
Lots of golfers lucked into an ace, so he proba9did get one.
How he did it is a lie.
There has to be a lie in there somewhere. Lying is what he does.
