(17,862 posts)Care to tell us that as well. We are pretty sure 1/6 wasn't Trump's first rodeo.

(3,383 posts)an ignorant and a buffoon, but he is good at being evil, he knows what to do to not get caught, and somehow he is an expert at compromising people because I can't think that intelligent people (the list does not include McCarthy) would stoop so low as republican politicians have, their lack of dignity, and to expose themselves as pawns can only happen when there is real threat against them, and maybe their families.

(6,813 posts)Wait, "mediocre" may be an over-rating for some of these characters.
Bolton himself amazes me that he can be so clueless and well-informed at the same time. Is he really just that childishly naive?

(82,849 posts)When the former guy said, "I have no idea what a burner phone is, to the best of my knowledge I have never even heard the term." That's how you know he's lying his pasty white rump-ah off. The "to the best of my knowledge" bit is from his numerous depositions, trying to dodge responsibility for his actions. It automatically affords the necessary wiggle room when the opposing attorney produces evidence that, yes, you do know what a burner phone is, and you've made frequent use of them in the past. Then comes the qualifier, "Oh, is that what a burner phone is? See, I've never heard it called that." So, see, he wasn't lying the whole time. It was just a misunderstanding, different people using different terms for the same thing.
Compare and contrast the former guy's "I have no idea" with his usual palaver about stuff he knows nothing about:
"Nobody knows more about X than me!"

(32,610 posts)It wasn't that long ago, I think it happened in 2018 maybe?
Cohen didn't buy the burner phones for himself, he was holding them for his boss. He only had one employer - Chump. One of the phones may have been the property of Chump Jr., but it's still the same family of Mafia Dons.
Lock them ALL up!

(82,849 posts)But like the guy who rips one in the elevator, there's nowhere he can go to get away from it. Bolton will just have to hope that like Mick Mulvaney someone somewhere will be desperate/stupid enough to give him a gig.

(14,624 posts)Some repubes still care what Bolton has to say, so at least some of them will hear it. Fox surely won't have much to say about this.
