Nearly half of workers say they are more likely to prioritize their family and personal lives over work than they were before the pandemic.
Meanwhile, 53% of workers said they are more likely to prioritize their health and well-being over work than before the pandemic, according to new research from tech giant Microsoft Corp., which surveyed 31,000 people in 31 countries, analyzed data from its productivity tools and studied labor trends on LinkedIn.
The experience of the past two years has reshaped our priorities, identities, and worldview, drawing a bright line between whats important health, family, time, purpose and whats not. As a result, employees 'worth-it' equation what people want from work and what theyre willing to give in return has changed, Microsoft said in its 2022 Works Trend index.
About 18% of those surveyed said they quit their job in 2021. Meanwhile, about 43% of employees are somewhat or extremely likely to consider changing jobs in the coming year, up slightly from the 41% who said they would do so in 2021. That breaks down to 52% of Generation Z and millennials compared to 35% of Generation X and baby-boomer workers.
