(3,185 posts)This video is amazing. I got chills the first time I watched it, because it really brings home just how vast everything about our existence is. We think of a hundred years or a million years as a long time, but on a universal scale... well, I urge you to watch the video. It's weirdly comforting.

(25,851 posts)He does exoplanet research, and is pretty sure it's nothing in his field. Whatever the announcement is, will be very important to that area of astronomy, according to him, perhaps not so much for everyone else.
But probably not aliens.
