on RNC servers? I didn't dream that, did I? Ken Roswell, he was real, right? That cost John Kerry the election.
What might have been...a truly great American with a real record. Warrior, Stateman - the American Ideal. Another JFK.
So how did George W. Bush - already a politically crippled POTUS coming out of the 2000 election and then-
(1) Spent the 1st 9 months of 2001 playing dirt farmer in Texas - then-
(2) 9/11,,,,then-
(3) WMD in Iraq (none) means invade and take Iraqi oil off the market. Saudi win!
(4) Spend trillions on US Military budget, no ROI, but keep US energy oil dependent. then-
(5) Katrina.
How did this guy - who lost by 3MM popular votes to Gore in 2000....win? Was it the Bush Prosperity Promise?
He promised a great "Home Ownership Society" by giving cheap mortgages for all.....WIN! And kept winning until the rectal economic lock-up in 2008.....fucking thank the gods that Obama became President.
But Kerry wins 2004/2008...Obama -2012/2016 - Hillary -2020-2024 (Sorry Joe!). We could have made America a lot better.

(13,863 posts)Michael Louis Connell (November 30, 1963 December 19, 2008) was a high-level Republican consultant who was subpoenaed in a case regarding alleged tampering with the 2004 U.S. Presidential election and a case involving thousands of missing emails pertaining to the political firing of U.S. Attorneys. Connell was killed when the plane he was flying crashed on December 19, 2008.
Request for protection
In July 2008, the lead attorney in the King Lincoln Bronzeville Neighborhood Association v. Blackwell case, Cliff Arnebeck, sent a letter[citation needed] to U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey seeking protection for Connell as a witness in the case, saying he had been threatened. Arnebeck wrote, "We have been confidentially informed by a source we believe to be credible that Karl Rove has threatened Michael Connell, a principal witness we have identified in our King Lincoln case in federal court in Columbus, Ohio, that if he does not agree to 'take the fall' for election fraud in Ohio, his wife Heather will be prosecuted for supposed lobby law violations."[citation needed] Arnebeck claims that months later, his source called back and warned that Connell's life was in danger.[3
Death
At about 6 p.m. on December 19, 2008, Connell was killed, at the age of 45,[1] in the crash of a single-engine 1997 Piper Saratoga private airplane, which he was flying, which occurred in Lake Township, between 2.5 and 3 miles short of the runway at the Akron-Canton Airport near Akron, Ohio. Connell was alone in the plane and had been returning from the College Park Airport in Maryland, near Washington, D.C

(113,052 posts)administration in modern history. The DNC was also at its weakest point under McAuliffe who was a DC-centric leader. Kerry faced all that and probably won.

(94,520 posts)I actually (with some embarrassment) asked her. The election wasn't stolen through rigged voting machines.
The same machines Democrats won on in 2006 and 2008 and 2012.

(24,467 posts)If so. why should anyone believe the results? Same as if this was a Blue State and the results were being officially recorded on DNC servers?

(94,520 posts)...nor did the ODP Director or any candidate (including John Kerry) claim that the votes were inaccurate.
Nor did a Democratic President and Democratic Governor feel the need to "fix" things.
Care to try another conspiracy theory?

(24,467 posts)Don't believe so, but debunk and I'd be happy to retract. You not be aware, but the Republican Party has been evolving into an anti-democratic institution. Much like they supported in the 70's in Central/South American.
Our immgration problem on the Southern Border has been created by US policy that encouraged RW genocide.
But here's why the "Keep America Great" morons are completely wrong. We need immigrants to build the 21st century infrastructure to keep our coastal cities viable. We are going to need a fuckload of immigrants to save this nation. I guess the Trump voter will have a problem, but I cannot let the mentally deficient decide how we act as a nation.

(94,520 posts)I'm not arguing that their campaigns were ethical; just that the results of the election were the way people chose to vote.
Same as in 2016.

(64,931 posts)Democratic areas, which forced voters to actually have to use provisional ballots that were either not counted or thrown out. There was a lot of whatthefuckery that year in Ohio which pushed the state to where it is today.
There were tens of thousands of Ohioans waiting in line to vote after the polls closed in strong Democratic areas that were forced into voting that way or just didnt get to vote.
