Beware of dismissing Trump as an idiot.

Yes, he's an ignorant, selfish, buffoon but that didn't prevent him from winning the presidency. In fact those qualities are probably the reasons he won and Trump knows it.

I worry that he will run and win again.
Impossible!, you say. The Republican party is leaving him, you say.

I say:
He has corrupted large portion of the Republican party in many states who will skew the voting tally to favor him.
He is desperate to regain the presidency to protect himself from prosecution.
The majority of the Republican party believe his lie that the election was stolen.

Remember:
We laughed when he entered the race.
We laughed when he had his ludicrous rallies.
We laughed when he debated Hillary.
We laughed.

He won.

If he decides to run again he will easily win the Republican nomination no matter what the media says right now.
The more arrogant and the worse he does in any debates, the more Republican votes he will gain. The majority of Republicans don't understand or care about a debate. They only want to see how he owns the Democratic nominee.
The more he can disrupt debates and campaigns, the more popular he will become and he knows this.

He has openly been committing crimes for more than 4 years and still not a single serious case has been brought against him.

He is an idiot but he has a genius for instilling a cult mentality in nearly half of the Republican electorate and manipulating the legal system so that he never has to face consequences for his crimes.

Beware of dismissing the idiot side of this monster.
The other side will destroy everything we hold dear if it's not taken seriously.

He's used his old man's money, and that stolen from Mary Trump's father, to go into several businesses where he dodged paying his bills and got out of it by suing at the drop of a hat because he had more money to outlast vendors that sued him.

He's an idiot all right, propped up by ties to Putin, and that doesn't look so smart now does it? Calling monstrous war criminal Putin a genius will haunt him.

Oh, and if trump had just invested his money in safe investments like etfs or high yield mutual funds, he'd be richer than his multi-bankrupt ass is now.

Russian state-controlled media just today called for people to "help our partner trump." https://www.democraticunderground.com/100216543089

Good luck trump with being publicly called an asset/partner by Putin's media.

(or seems to be); being an idiot, even being obviously an idiot, doesn’t seem to disqualify you from becoming president. At least 33% of Americans don’t seem to care, or don’t care to see, how completely unqualified he is for the job. And 33% plus gerrymandering and voter suppression combined with a slanted media that will gin up support for an idiot while criticizing and thus suppressing votes for a qualified candidate might be just enough to put him back in. God help us all.

ties to war criminal Putin. Russian media is praising him and calling their partner.

And he's just publicly asked Putin, who is in the middle of his invasion of Ukraine, to help him get dirt on the Biden family.

he is mentally ill. When he asks Rafensperger to find him 11,780 votes, prosecutors say we can't indict him because he actually believes he won Georgia, that is brilliant, playing stupid.

He works for mobsters, he launders money, he never emails, he gets people to do his dirty work.

He paid off Stormy Daniels and Michael Cohen went to jail because he delivered the check that was signed by Trump. he is brilliant, the statute of limitations has expired.

He is the first president in 40 years to not release his taxes.

He never divested his businesses, he made money from being president while Jimmy Carter had to sell off his peanut farm, brilliant.

He lied about his finances to buy the lease for the DC Hotel which anyone who wanted to see him paid to stay there. Brilliant. And then when Tish James wanted to look into how he acquired the DC Hotel under false pretenses, he was allowed to sell his lease and make millions in profit. brilliant.

While president he had taxpayers buy his golf course, golf carts, which he then leased to the Secret Service. Brilliant.

Donald Trump lost the 2020 election and he is still the leader of the Putin Party, politicians travel to Mar-el-Loco to kiss his ring. Brilliant

He is being sued by E. Jeanne Carroll, who he supposedly raped in a department store, and he got Merrick Garland to defend him in court by defending the office of the presidency. I guess defaming someone who accuses you of rape is an official duty of the presidency. Brilliant.

Underestimate Trump at our peril.

Charismatic leaders can be dumb and still get people to follow them. They just have to have a knack for a couple key things, Trump has a knack for self promotion, he uses it to get what he wants. IQ wise? He's probably below 100, but he's a genius at a couple aspects of his life, self promotion and not paying his bills.

Hitler was an idiot too, but he had an aptitude for manipulating the masses.

Both Trump and Hitler had groups of enablers around them who are smarter than they are, people who see their power and want to gain from it too. It's these people that are the ones consolidating the support into action.
