Republicans fail to dent public support for Ketanji Brown Jackson

This makes me smile

A day later, a CNN report added, “According to an average of polls by Gallup, Fox, Monmouth University, Quinnipiac University, and the Pew Research Center, about 53% of Americans supported her confirmation, with about 26% of Americans opposed. This is good for a +27-point net popularity rating.”....

The New York Times’ David Leonhardt added late last week, “Jackson’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing has turned into a case study of how disconnected from reality large parts of the Republican ecosystem have become.”

And yet, none of these tactics had the intended effect. Jackson remains on track to be confirmed, probably next week, and polls suggest the attempted GOP slander did not undermine public support for the jurist’s nomination.

All of which suggests several Senate Republicans humiliated themselves and tarnished what’s left of their reputations with little to show for their efforts.

This made me smile, too. Especially this bit (emphasis added by me):

The New York Times’ David Leonhardt added late last week, “Jackson’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing has turned into a case study of how disconnected from reality large parts of the Republican ecosystem have become.”

And this, which literally made me snicker:

All of which suggests several Senate Republicans humiliated themselves and tarnished what’s left of their reputations with little to show for their efforts.

Get, I wonder which Republicans those could be? Hmmmm.....I wonder.

And then their constituents vote them right back into office.

“Slander” is certainly the right word — I could not bring myself to watch any of it

But it would be great if she could sue him for slander. The kind of stuff they were doing to her and suggesting was inexcusable.

The Senate Republicans did not humiliate themselves and tarnish their reputations, except in the eyes of Democrats.

All of those GOP Senators got prime time appearances on FOX, they are all over RW Hate Radio and GQP websites, they are fundraising off of their performance, the soundbites they created are being played over and over by RW media and shared by their followers, they are shoring up their base and riling up Republicans to "get out the vote" in the next election.

They don't care what Democrats or liberals think. We are not their target. What they do is quite effective among those who vote for them, and that is all they care about. None of them are about to lose an election because people are offended by the way they treated a black woman Judge.

They are elected and paid to fight, destroy, and tarnish liberals. This two-sided America will continue until some major event knocks it off its orbit, something like a real depression, nuclear event, major war, or civil war.
