I had some idea of what went down... I had no idea about a lot of it.

The GOP used it as a reason to recall the Democratic Governor Gray Davis and install ARnold Schwarzenagger as Governor. He was such a bad Governor after his getting reelected that no Republican has beenelected Governor since then.
