Or, like the Department of Justice, does information technology move at the same speed as the days of typewriters, carbon paper and paper interoffice memos, in the early 1970's?

For the rest of us, while the tech mentioned can increase speed and efficiency it also adds to "noise" and "debris" one may need to deal with before you can get to do what you would have done quicker and with less frustration had you not had all the tech "helping".

(3,466 posts)months. One of the huge advantages of email was the ability to search old emails to confirm information that was shared in the past. Now there's going to be a lot of the same questions/issues dealt with over and over again as people will not remember the questions/issues were discussed 2 or 3 years ago, so it will waste everyone's time discussing the question/issue again. I really don't understand such a short email retention policy!

And for users who deal with long-term customers, it makes no sense.
