Official White House photographers since Reagan have published their own books.
But when Trumps photographer, Shealah Craighead, tried to publish her book, Trump tried to get a cut of the money, asked her to hold off, and stole the pics for his own book.
Shealah Craighead served as President Donald J. Trumps official White House photographer.

She Took the White House Photos. Trump Moved to Take the Profit.
The former chief White House photographer made plans to publish a book of Trump photos. The former president had other plans.

WASHINGTON As President Donald J. Trumps tenure came to an end, the chief White House photographer, who had traveled the world with him and spent countless hours inside the White House snapping pictures, notified Mr. Trumps aides that she intended to publish a book collecting some of her most memorable images.
This was hardly a radical idea: Official photographers from every White House since President Ronald Reagans have published their own books. Barack Obama and George W. Bush were so supportive that they wrote forewords for them.
But like so much else involving Mr. Trump, the plan by his chief photographer, Shealah Craighead, did not follow this bipartisan norm.
First, aides to Mr. Trump asked her for a cut of her book advance payment, in exchange for his writing a foreword and helping promote the book, according to former associates of Mr. Trump.
Then Mr. Trumps team asked Ms. Craighead to hold off on her book project to allow the former president to take Ms. Craigheads photos and those of other White House staff photographers and publish his own book, which is now selling for as much as $230 a copy.

(15,536 posts)even check it out of the library because I don't want to see one more pic of that ugly, orange, anus mouth face. I've seen enough of it to last me a lifetime. In fact, every pic I do inadvertently see, my PTSD sets in.
I throw up in my mouth every time I accidentally see a photo of him
Anything posted with his picture should come with a trigger warning

(32,634 posts)... and then he threatened her with a lawsuit when she planned to publish the photos. That's his standard MO anyway, he's done it to a lot of people. I'm guessing he did it to Shealah Craighead too.
The thing is that those NDAs were illegal, especially for White House employees who were working for Uncle Sam, not Chump. Chump threatened his former employees anyway, and a lot of them believed they could be sued. A few smart people have gotten lawyers, and those lawyers have torn up the NDAs because they are worthless. they aren't worth the toilet paper they're printed on.

(6,794 posts)about the tRumps is that they are uber wealthy. Never. He conned everyone including Forbes Magazine. He is a huckster and knows that perception is everything and people will believe what they think they see. If you have to steal from a photographer then you are not wealthy.
What hurts the most is that he was actually President of the United States. Our historical humiliation has now been recorded.

(43,049 posts)roast, he was given a list of things comics could make fun of.
Anthony Jeselnik later said the one absolute no-no was to suggest he wasn't worth what he said he was. Insult his wife, kids, hair, but do NOT talk about his money.
Trump has a thing about money that's deeper than just greed.

(51,550 posts)She wasn't allowed to freely roam the White House taking pictures like Sousa did under Obama. Sousa took newsworthy historical shots of the President doing his job.
Trump used her like his personal photographer. She could only take shots when Trump called for her. And the only time he called for her was when he wanted her to snap some staged PR shots that he wanted to use as propaganda or for campaign purposes. His 2020 campaign should have listed her photos as a campaign contribution.

That said, the disgraced, twice impeached and blocked from social media former guy said it best... something along the lines of, "you knew I was a fucking snake when you met me." At this point, it's difficult to feel sorry for anyone who voluntarily worked for him. Good luck!
