AG Ken Paxton bills Texas taxpayers for his defense in 'frivolous' suit to overturn 2020 election

This is really sad. There are petitions to disbar this asshole due to the bogus lawsuit by the State of Texas to declare the election results in several other states to be void. That lawsuit had no merit and did not serve the interests of Texas taxpayers. That was a stunt to curry favor with TFG. Due to that lawsuit, there are three complaints to disbar Paxton and Paxton is having the state pay for his defense. The State of Texas and Texas taxpayers should not reimburse this asshole so that he can keep his law license

Texas taxpayers are on the hook for more than $43,000 so far in legal defense for Attorney General Ken Paxton as he attempts to ward off multiple complaints to the State Bar over his failed lawsuit seeking to overturn the 2020 presidential election at the U.S. Supreme Court.

Paxton faces at least three professional misconduct complaints that have been filed against him since the December suit, which the high court swiftly dismissed for lack of jurisdiction. The election case involved disputed presidential election ballots in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan and Wisconsin.

Two complaints — one filed in June by a Democratic Party activist, consolidated with a few others, and another in July filed by the nonprofit Lawyers Defending American Democracy and 16 Texas lawyers, including four former presidents of the State Bar — alleged the Supreme Court suit was frivolous and that it included pleadings that Paxton knew to be false.

The Lawyers Defending American Democracy complaint is moving forward and will be heard by either a district court judge or an administrative panel, the complainants say.

Another complaint filed in February took issue with a pressure campaign by Paxton to sway appellate court judges in his favor on a major case involving election fraud prosecutions.

As another DUer told me, if theyre dumb enough to elect them they deserve everything they get. So Texas is just as backwards full of dumb asses as Kentucky. Lets write 'em off. Yay

Before Drumpf crystallized the total unethical opportunism for power of the Repukes, there were the Texas wingnuts, or really all of the Repukes, willing to put anybody in offices who would keep them hanging onto power – whatever minority (Clarence THOMAS, Beto GONZALES, Tony GARZA) willing to be window dressing – and whatever other lowlife lawbreaker like PAXTON.
