Why are some people posting videos and tweets in Russian or Ukrainian?

I've seen that the past day or so.
Never noticed it before.

I suspect everybody on DU can read English.

Why are these tweets and videos in Russian or Ukrainian posted here?

If the posts include a string after the tweet like ?lang=en then the DU software is not including the whole Twitter URL in the embed code and therefore not displaying the English version of the tweet.
