Coffman's truck was parked at 920am on Jan 6... near the Capitol. And he carried a firearm on his person that day.... per judge

Judge: More mason jars with gasoline and styrofoam - the components of Molotov cocktails were later found at Coffman's home

So many weapons, so much ammo, so many explosives

Judge: A list of "good guys" and "bad guys" was recovered from Coffman ... specifying, in particular, that a federal judge was on the "Bad guys" list

Judge mentions Coffman's trip to DC one month earlier.. in Dec 2020 .... attempting to drive to a Senator's home and seek help for challenge to election

Judge says she can't remember having such a unique collection of weapons in a case "Especially the Molotov cocktails concern me"

Judge mentions the machete and large-capacity ammo feeding devices Coffman also was accused of bringing to DC

BOOM: Judge asks "What was the point of driving all the way from Alabama to DC .. with all those weapons?"

But.. she acknowledges... she won't get answer to that question today

Which.... is disappointing

The components of the Molotov cocktails are comparable to Napalm. Judge leans into her concerns about Coffman... a Vietnam veteran... whom the judge says should know about the power and destructiveness of napalm.

Coffman was NOT part of the riot at the Capitol. "Not part of the Insurrection" per judge. He was in DC with a cache of weapons and Molotov cocktails across from Capitol on Jan 6... but not part of the riot itself, judge says

Judge says Coffman had enough weapons "ready to do battle" and expresses her concern that she's not getting an answer as to why

Judge is channeling the voice of many who closely follow this case. Why did he park across street from the Capitol at 920am..the morning of the siege?

Judge says "appropriate sentence" is 46 months in prison. Roughly 4 years

I think that's the first significant sentence to be "awarded" from the coup attempt. lagomorph777 Apr 2022 #3

They hand out the 20 year sentences to young, impressionable men that the FBI can gull into setting up a fake explosive device, then swoop in and arrest at the supreme moment when bomb-that's-not-a-bomb doesn't go off.

I'm not thrilled with the sentence.

While the man was not "officially" part of the mob, he was there Jan 6, parked down the street from the Capitol in a truck full of explosives and weapons. According to reports, he had been in DC for a week, apparently living out of the truck.

Hopefully he at least loses his right to own a firearm.

Crystal Mason got more time than that for casting an illegal vote. America is a joke.
