Florida man gets 18 months in prison for threats to Pelosi, AOC

https://www.politico.com/news/2022/04/01/florida-man-gets-18-months-in-prison-for-threats-to-pelosi-aoc-00022374

A Florida man was sentenced Friday to a year and a half in federal prison for issuing a series of crude and violent threats to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Paul Hoeffer, 60, of Palm Beach Gardens, received the sentence at a hearing in Fort Pierce, Fla., after pleading guilty to three felony counts of making interstate threats against Pelosi (D-Calif.), Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and a prominent prosecutor in Chicago, Kim Foxx, court records show.

Prosecutors had asked U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon for a sentence of about 3½ years in prison for Hoeffer. His defense asked for leniency, noting that he was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.

Hoeffer admitted that in March 2019 he left a vulgar voice mail message at Pelosi’s office, threatening to cut her head off “Jihadist style” and warning her to “sleep with one eye open.”

Hoeffer also conceded that around the same time he left a series of threatening messages for Foxx, who is Black, including a racial slur. “Bullets are going to rattle your fucking brain,” one message said.

nut job web sites and the hate talkers on radio/TV will visit him in the prison hospital.

I was in charge of keeping the Democratic Poll watchers fed on election day in Nov 2004.

I went to over 20 polling locations to deliver food, and at at least 3 of them there were men standing just outside the 100 foot limit holding Anti-Kerry Swiftboat signs and haranguing anyone who walked past them trying to get to the polls with extremely abusive and nasty RW anti-lib bullshit.

They have been among us for generations, at least since Nixon.

A violent and sick idiot. To think, he had/had a mom, a sister perhaps, aunts, female cousins etc.....Bet his favorite teacher growing up is a female.

This hatred and violent rhetoric against females really needs to be stopped. If cancer is going to stop this guy, so be it.

Two families. Conservatives. Both live in blue Northeast states and are heading to Florida later this year. They say that their state governments are too "restrictive." They are moving because Florida will be less restrictive of their "freedoms." Naturally, parties in both families are Covid deniers and anti-vax. It's their anti-vax position that is the real driver here. Both distrust the government, but the adults in one family are super paranoid about the government. It's almost laughable, but one of those adults works on a high level science field FOR the U.S. government.

I also helped a couple Republican neighbors see what a disaster Trump was, & they voted for Biden. They even asked me if I had an extra Biden sign for their yard, which I gladly gave to them.

Remember, DeSantis won by just 0.4%, less than 32,500 votes out of 8+ million cast. So people who care about politics in FL *should* move here because if our population had just 0.15% more Democrats, & they all voted, DeSantis would not be our governor.

Just ruined the chances of moving up to a higher court. I am certain the Grahams. Cruz’s, Hawleys, Cottens and Blackburns will be outraged at the weak on crime sentencing here. Graham will need a follow up performance.
(Should I put in a sarcasm thing here)
These endless death threats need to have much more deterrence. Hoping his loses all weapons privileges subject to random searches of his dwelling.
